Vision boards always seemed like something everyone was doing but I could never figure out how to do. I finally tried making one last summer and I am OBSESSED.
To me, a vision board is meant to represent your big goals, small habits to build, areas for growth; truly anything you want to work towards. It is a visual reminder to inspire you each and everyday. All of the boards I was seeing on Pinterest were these big elaborate canvases and poster boards with paints and washi tape. I am working on a budget here so I decided to make a small (cost effective) board that I could place on my desk rather than shoving into the back of my closet to soon be forgotten.
Today I want to share with you my little DIY to hopefully inspire you make your own vision board and eventually reach your very best goals!
Materials:
Old picture frame
Paper
Photos/visuals
Glue or tape
Step 1: Write
I start off by writing down all of the areas I would like to grow. Your vision board can be made up of long term goals, short term goals, new mindsets, 5 year plans, daily habits, a combination of everything; it is completely up to you. I like to make a new vision board each semester to keep my goals and habits specific to what is in store.
Step 2: Visuals
Next I will find a visual that represents each of the things I would like to pursue. This can be a picture, a symbol, a colour, a word, a quote, whatever you would like it to be! No one else has to understand what they mean. I will usually just search images online, but you could always draw your own, cut out from a magazine, etc.
Step 3: Create!
Now the fun part! I will find an old picture frame and trace out a piece of paper to fit inside. On this paper I will then collage all of my visuals to create my board! You can get as creative as you would like here! When I am finished getting glue ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE, I will slip my masterpiece into the frame, and there you have it! A little desk sized reminder and inspiration for your semester ahead!
